Report from Antigua: Congressman Julio César Portillo dies after shooting in Guatemala

Guatemalan deputy Julio César Portillo died after an armed attack in Zacapa, which also left three police officers dead. The attack occurred when armed men opened fire on the truck in which the MP was mobilized. This crime occurs three weeks after the murder of former prosecutor Juan Francisco Solórzano, an anti-corruption figure. At least six people were killed and more than 15 injured in a shooting on Saturday, 7 November, in the main market square in the southern city of Krakow, police reported.
